Agentic in a Box: Agent-Based AI Comes to Life at Orange During VivaTech

During VivaTech, Orange Fab brought together startups, technology experts, and AI leaders for an evening dedicated to the future of intelligent agents. Held on June 17 at Orange Gardens, “Agentic in a Box”—organized in partnership with TechUp Network and NVIDIA, with participation from HP and Nous Research—provided an opportunity to explore how agent-based AI is moving from concept to concrete use cases today.

Artificial intelligence is evolving rapidly. Following the emergence of models capable of generating content, a new era is dawning: that of AI agents, capable of performing complex tasks, making decisions within a defined framework, and interacting with various tools autonomously.

It is this revolution that Orange Fab sought to highlight during this event held on the sidelines of VivaTech.

On the agenda: technical demonstrations, case studies, expert panel discussions, and conversations about the practical applications that will soon transform businesses—as well as everyday life.

Throughout the evening, participants had the opportunity to explore several technologies that are already shaping agent-based AI:

These demonstrations illustrated a key point: Agent-based AI is no longer limited to answering questions. It is now capable of performing actions, orchestrating processes, and assisting users with increasingly complex tasks.

The discussions also highlighted how these solutions can be integrated into professional environments to improve productivity, automate certain workflows, and create new services.

At Orange, Open Innovation involves connecting the best innovations on the market with the needs of our business teams and business units.

The mission of the Orange Fab teams is to identify entrepreneurs capable of accelerating this transformation and fostering high-impact collaborations.

As this evening demonstrated, roles are sometimes reversed: some innovators themselves become a source of inspiration for envisioning the uses of tomorrow.

Among the event’s highlights, the demonstration by Olivier HO-A-CHUCK made a particularly strong impression on attendees.

Drawing on technologies developed by NVIDIA and Nous Research, he presented a concrete vision of what agent-based AI could become in households.

Beyond the technical feat, this demonstration showed how intelligent agents could support families in their daily lives, simplify certain tasks, and enhance the services offered by telecom operators.

It was a particularly compelling illustration of the potential of this new generation of artificial intelligence.

The conference also brought together several speakers who shared their expertise and insights on industry trends:

  • Jonathan Evans
  • Natalia Segal
  • Christian Chabrerie
  • Paviel Schertzer

Their presentations addressed both the technological issues and the challenges associated with deploying agent-based AI in businesses.

One of the key takeaways from this meeting is clear: AI is entering a new phase.

The goal is no longer simply to provide a relevant response, but rather to:

  • perform actions autonomously;
  • intelligently automate business processes;
  • enhance teams’ capabilities by collaborating with them.

This evolution paves the way for new applications across many sectors, particularly telecommunications, where AI agents will one day be able to enhance customer experience, assist employees, and offer new, high-value-added services.

Orange Fab would like to extend its warmest thanks to TechUp Network, NVIDIA, HP, Nous Research, and all the teams involved in organizing this event.

By bringing together major corporations, technology partners, and the startup ecosystem, “Agentic in a Box” exemplifies Orange Fab’s mission: to foster the innovations that will shape the ways we use technology in the future.
