Mobile World Congress 2025: AI at the core of innovation

This year’s Mobile World Congress 2025 was dominated by the theme of artificial intelligence (AI) and its integration into tomorrow’s solutions.

Numerous announcements highlighted AI as a real driver of transformation: the Orange and Mistral AI partnership, Google’s Gemini Live, and Honor’s “Alpha Plan”.

In an interview with Orange Business, Bruno Zerbib outlined the impact of AI on the way we work, talking about a radical transformation in the way we interact with technology. By placing people at the heart of our strategy and collaborating with start-ups like Mistral AI, we aim to build a future where technology and humanity unite for a positive impact.

As Christel Heydmann also reminds us, we’re only at the beginning of the AI era, and it’s a fast-moving field. “We have trained over 50,000 employees. (…) we have made tools available to them in a secure domain”, she confided in an interview with Maddyness.

The Mobile World Congress is a not-to-be-missed event for our teams: start-ups and major companies come together!

On this occasion, our experts met with numerous national delegations from over 40 pavilions (France, Turkey, Switzerland, Finland, Israel, Korea and many more!). These meetings enabled us to discover promising and innovative start-ups in fields such as cybersecurity, IoT, NewSpace and augmented reality. A special mention goes to French Tech with Business France, which highlighted the importance of a dynamic innovation ecosystem with its 70 French start-ups at MWC.

On a panel moderated by Jérôme Berger, discussions focused on the importance of strengthening collaboration between start-ups and telecom operators, with an emphasis on open innovation and prioritizing topics such as telecom APIs, AI and open gateways, in order to create value for all players involved.

One of the highlights of the event was the “Orange Startup Networking Cocktail”, where numerous start-ups had the opportunity to showcase their innovations.

This moment of exchange fostered the creation of synergies and allowed us to explore how AI, NewSpace and other advanced technologies can transform promising ideas into impactful solutions in the networking sector.

At MWC, Orange had the pleasure of launching the 1st edition of the Orange InfraNum Innovation, which was brilliantly won by Kwarto. This start-up was recognized for its digital twin asset management solution, which has a significant impact on the deployment and operation of radio towers. Congratulations to Kwarto 😉
